Nadi

Welcome to Nadi - the gateway to Fiji.

While Nadi is not the capital of Fiji, it is often referred to as the gateway to Fiji due to the international airport there.

Fiji is actually made up of over 300 islands and is recognised worldwide for its sandy beaches, palm-trees and lagoons.

The three main languages spoken in Fiji are Fijian, English and Hindi and over 900,000 people live in Fiji.

Fiji has the perfect climate for relaxing beach holidays. It is generally warm all year round and has average temperatures of approximately 26 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius.

Wet season is from about November to April, and it is generally warm and humid at this time of year too. However, the showers are generally short and should still allow plenty of sunshine!

Fiji uses the Fijian Dollar. ATMs are common in cities, however not in the rural areas, so be sure to have cash with you if you are heading further afield. There is often a credit card charge to use your card.

Fiji has a warm, tropical climate, so we recommend packing for summery conditions. Take cool clothing for warm days, as well as a hat, sunscreen and bug repellant.
